Let me start by saying I am a car guy. Did not know squat about about a diesel.Had trouble with an 06 Ford powerstroke 6.0 talked to Frederick ford an and they would not touch it they told me to take it to XLR8. Man and I'm glad I did I could not have had a better experience.This was a great shop Steve the owner is a good guy and straight shooter. Jon my Tech was also great explained everything in detail It cost me some cash but my truck has never been better thanks to the gang at XLR8. Update on my truck Jan 2017 MY TRUCK IS A BEAST this thing is awsome more power than I will ever need not one second of trouble I have upgraded the chargin system changed the oil ect. but not one problem THANKS TO XLR8 great job fellows thanks I will be using these folk for all my Diesel truck service that I can't do

A little more than a month ago I purchased a 2004 Ford F250 with the full bulletproof kit...best experience I've had with a 6.0...haven't had any of the "6.0 syndrome" symptoms. Scott, my sales person was not pushy with his sales pitch. He let me take the truck out myself so I could examine it without any distractions. He was very straightforward with things on the truck that were less than ideal, yet he had them fixed free of charge before I even purchased the truck (two injectors had gone bad). They take great care of you after the purchase as well. I would recommend.

I Bought a 04 6.0 from XLR8 a while back and I'm more than pleased with my purchase. Love the truck. No "6.0 syndrome". It's been my daily commuter since I bought and have not had a single problem. People left a bad review about it before I bought it due to not wanting to pay the increased price after the bulletproofing. They missed out on a great truck. Nothing but good things to say.

Bought an 08 6.4 from these guys a few years ago. Truck was advertised as mechanically sound which it was. Kept it maybe three years and put 45K +/- miles on it.
To anyone who is actually reading these reviews know this about XLR8.
1) They have a good local reputation for their mechanical work.
2) Most of the trucks they have are program trucks that used to be fleet vehicles.
3) Many of their trucks are rough. That is why you are paying so little for them.
4) With any used vehicle the salesman/dealership does not know the entire history on them, and you are in fact "rolling the dice."

Super Happy with my 2006 Ford F250 6.0 pickup from XLR8 Diesel Trucks!! Russell went above and beyond to make this deal happen!! Working long hours in Va made it tough to get there but he made arrangements to meet me at 8pm. In the end I got a nice 4x4 diesel lariat for wholesale/work truck prices, better financing than expected plus I learned a lot about the diesel engine. They also have the two Top Ford Tech's in the Tri state area!! I've read a few reviews on here and it just sounds like people are expecting a brand new truck for 15k?? Come on and get real folks, I guess you can't please everyone. To see true/accurate reviews go to Sure Critic-they call (Every Customer) to date your experience. It shows 4.8 out of 5 stars for 41 reviews to date, Damn good in my opinion!!! See you guys when service is due or I need another truck.

After new management on the sales team, XLR8 has really done a great job to ensure vehicles are in the best condition as possible. They offer add-ons (i.e. the 6.0l solutions package) at an awesome discounted rate if you buy a truck. If you've had a bad experience or have read past negative reviews, give them a second chance and let Russel change your mind.

I purchesed a 07 Bulletproof King Ranch on Saturday excellent customer service.I live 2 hrs away Russel went over a few vehicles with me on the phone and had them ready when i got there. On Wednesday morning when i got to work which is closer to the dealership i noticed there was a antifreeze drip under the truck i called Russell he had me bring it right in, the service side took it right away found the problem to be the radiator which they promptly replaced at no cost. These guys have been extremely helpful through the ehole process start to finish. This has been the best car buying experience I can remember ever having,and i have bought alot of cars over the years.

Overall a great experience. I bought one of the few non-fords these guys deal in and Tim (my sales guy) was still very knowledgeable about the truck. It was a pleasant experience, and they worked with me remotely since I live about 50+ miles away. There was an issue with one of the sensors on the truck about 10 minutes after I drove it from their lot. I contacted Tim and he said I could bring it back and they'd get it fixed. I didn't feel like driving back and asked if he could just send me a new sensor and I'd replace it myself. He was happy to do it, and I had the new sensor in hand a couple days later. Trucks been great ever since. Tim was very friendly, responsive and accommodating. Thanks guys.

Xlr8 is one of the best diesel shops around. I typically do my own mechanic work but age and surgeries have made some of these task easier for someone else to do. I am extremely picky on who I allow to touch my vehicles...xlr8 is the only shop in my list. Extremely professional and great prices!
